On February 20th the solemn ceremony of the first 45M project motor yacht keel laying was held in assembly workshop R-32 of Nevsky Shipyard. This hull will be built on the order of Laky Verf, the company specializing in yacht building. So Nevsky Shipyard builds steel hulls for their yachts.
Close cooperation of the Shipyard and Laky Verf is determined by the fact that finishing workshop is situated on the Shipyard territory, besides that the Shipyard carries out the launching of ready yachts and provides the working area for repair and winter storage of yachts. As it was earlier noticed at our website, Laky Verf delivered to the customers 4 yachts of 23M project in 2007-08, the fifth yacht is being finished at the shed; the hull of the sixth one is being assembled in R-32 workshop. The event that took place on February 20th is especially remarkable for the fact that it is mega yacht of absolutely new project. Generally mega yacht is yacht with length not less than 25 m. The Shipyard began to build the yacht which length will be 45 m.
The project is developed by one of the leading design group Omega Architects (Netherlands) at the participation of Laky Verf specialists. For this new series yachts finishing works providing the Shipyard builds the new special-purpose workshop of yacht building at its territory. It will allow placing of two yachts of 45 m and two yachts of 23M project.
In accordance with tradition long before Laky Verf and Nevsky Shipyard stuff, guests and representatives of mass media the yacht was blessed by priest. Keel Laying Board was secured to the hull by designer of the project Frank Laupman, Omega Architects, and Victor Olerskiy, one of the founders of Laky Verf. The vessel is being built under supervision of the Bureau Veritas (BV) according to MCA Rules.
On June 2009 the Shipyard will finish the building of new yacht hull and deliver it to the customer - Laky Verf – which plans to launch the first yacht of 45M project in 2011.
