On September 07-10 the delegation of Nevsky Shipyard took part in 24th Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology, International Trade Fair «SMM-2010», which traditionally was held in Hamburg (Germany).
SMM Hamburg is with no doubt the leading international trade fair for this sector which has been held since 1963 once in every 2 years, and takes 12 pavilions of exhibition complex «Hamburg Messe und Congress». The total area - about 64000 m2. Among its exhibitors are shipping companies, shipbuilding enterprises, design bureaus, suppliers of marine products, equipment and technologies, offshores, - over 2000 exhibitors from 58 countries.
Among the 50000 visitors from different parts of the world were top management of the ship-building and contract companies, high-rank officials of the state and private companies, engineers, scientists and researchers, bankers and politicians.
Russia is an active participant of the Fair and this year it was the 8th participation of Russian Pavilion in it.
Nevsky Shipyard was an exhibitor at «SMM-2010» - together with «Oka Shipyard» and «Tuapse Repair Yard» – companies affiliated with the International Transport Holding «Universal Cargo Logistics Holding ». A lot visitors came to the Shipyard Booth every day and among them there were not only representatives of the Customers and Suppers with whom Nevsky Shipyard has successful long-term relations, but also new companies on the market.
The delegation of Nevsky Shipyard headed by Vladimir Bazhenov, General Director, held negotiations some of which resulted in contract signing.
The tour around the Russian National Pavilion and the visiting of Nevsky Shipyard Booth by the Danish companies was another significant event for our Shipyard. The members of the Danish Delegations were really interested to know about the modernization program of the Shipyard and its progress, current Order Book and also possible lines of cooperation in both delivery of the equipment and material and newbuildings. As a part of the events of Russian-Danish Shipbuilding Forum which will take place on October 6th of this year in Saint-Petersburg, Nevsky Shipyard will receive the delegation of representatives of Danish companies on its territory.
Though the economic situation is still not normal, we can still say that the Fair was a real success and SMM 2010 confirmed positive trend in the industry. Nevsky Shipyard finds the participation in the Fair to be very useful. During the work of the Fair we established new business relations, maintained the old ones, concluded contracts, and discussed the prospects of cooperation.
