On May, 25th, 2010 the delegation of representatives of the company STX Finland Oy visited Nevsky Shipyard. The management of Nevsky Shipyard welcomed Mr. Juha Sinkkonen, Director of «Helsinki shipyard», Mr. Heikki Palkama, Project Manager of «Helsinki shipyard» and Mr. Hanny Tuomela, Project Coordinator of «Helsinki shipyard».
Company «STX Finland Oy», which along with «Helsinki shipyard» includes shipyards in Turku and Rauma, is a part of «STX Europe» - an international shipbuilding group which aims to be the leading builder of cruise and offshore vessels. «STX Europe» comprises 15 shipyards in Finland, France, Nonruay, Romania, Brazil and Vietnam. «STX Europe» has approximately 16 000 employees.
During the joint meeting with the management of Nevsky Shipyard the special attention was given to such issues as: modernization and upgrading of Nevsky Shipyard production capacities; the order book and the status of works on current orders of the Shipyard. In their turn the members of the Finnish delegation made a short review of the situation and state of affairs at the shipyards of the group «STX Europe». At the end of the meeting the ways of possible cooperation between Nevsky and Helsinki Shipyards were discussed. After the meeting the visitors were invited on a tour around Nevsky Shipyard. Everything that the guests saw on the territory and workshops of the Shipyard impressed them favorably.
In end of their visit the members of the Finnish delegation invited the representatives of Nevsky Shipyard to visit the shipyards of the group «STX Europe» in Finland for further discussions with regards to possible cooperation. The representatives Nevsky Shipyard plan to return the visit at the end of June of this year.
