Nevsky Shipyard welcomed the group of Norwegian top-managers

On October, 27th Nevsky Shipbuilding-Shiprepair Plant (Nevsky Shipyard) welcomed the group of Norwegian top-managers who undergo training at the enterprises of St.-Petersburg and Leningrad region.

Training of the Norwegian top-managers is arranged by the St.-Petersburg interregional resource center which carries out the Presidential Program of training managers for national economy enterprises of the Russian Federation.

Top-managers from Norway, whose business is associated with shipbuilding, have expressed a wish to undergo training at Nevsky Shipyard. The group included:

Roar Karlsen, the managing director of the company Maritim Sveiceservice AS specializing in shipbuilding both for Norwegian and international navigation;

Tor Mikal Østervold, managing director of ECOsubsea AS, the company which renders cleaning services for all kinds of water transport and large-capacity ships (surface of ship hull below waterline), with use of the unique patented innovative technology;

Gaute Morland, the Regional Sales Director of HERNS Scan Systems AS, the company specializing in manufacturing of CCTV systems for security purposes, for production processes ashore and at sea; consulting, telecommunication technologies and power industry.

Besides the main aim of the training - to exchange experience and to establish business contacts, the Norwegian managers' aims were: to get the idea of Russian business and culture including how to do business in Russia effectively; and to establish direct contacts with shipbuilding companies.

At the beginning of the visit to the Shipyard the managers were given brief information about the history of the Shipyard and the town of Schliesselburg where the Shipyard is situated. Then, having been provided with an overview of Shipyard's business lines and the program of modernization and technical upgrading of production facilities, visitors had a tour around the Shipyard with visiting main workshops and orders under construction.

During the meeting with specialists of Purchasing Department and Design Engineering Department of Nevsky Shipyard, visitors were given an overview of the Shipyards policy regarding equipment and materials purchasing. 

At the end of the meeting the visitors once again pointed out that everything they saw and heard during their visit made a very favourable impression on them. Top-managers thanked the representatives of the Shipyard for a possibility to visit Nevsky Shipyard, and expressed hope that the meeting would develop into long-term and mutually beneficial co-operation.
