From April 25th to November 15th, 2013, the vessels of North-Western Shipping Company, JSC, transported 370 000 tons of timber cargos what is at 70% more compared with the analogous rate of the last year.
For the first time the new motor vessels “NEVA-LEADER” of 7000 dwt were used for transportation of timber cargos. These vessels were built at Nevsky Shipyard. During the first experimental voyage the dry-cargo “NEVA-LEADER 1” transported 6300 cubic meters of coniferous pulpwood from Podporozhye to Finland in May 2013. This voyage and the following trips of RSD49 project vessels demonstrated high efficiency on timber transportations.
During the navigation period of 2014 North-Western Shipping Company is intending to increase timber cargos delivery volume transporting by the motor vessels “NEVA-LEADER” and other vessels of “river-sea” type from Volga-Baltic ports to ports of Scandinavia and Western Europe.
