Alexander Demidov was born on October 21, 1914 in Khabarovsk. He devoted his entire working life to the Navy, was the first head of the "Expeditionary Team of Emergency Rescue, Ship-Hoisting and Underwater Technical Operations of the Sakhalin State Shipping Company".
In July 1944, he was sent to the front in the current marine fleet - the Dnieper Red Banner Order of Ushakov, 1st class flotilla. As part of the flotilla participates in battles with Germany. In October 1946 he was appointed captain of the steamer "Oka", which, by order of the People's Commissar of the Navy, was transferred to the Sakhalin Shipping Company. Together with the ship, Captain Alexander Demidov is transferred to work in the Sakhalin State Shipping Company.
In 1961, under the leadership of Alexander Demidov, the first rescue operation was carried out - in the vicinity of the port of Nevelsk they removed from the rocky shallows of the SRT Nechaev with a displacement of 430 tons. This operation was carried out using compressed air and two 80-ton pontoons. In the future, a similar technology was used repeatedly.
He has government awards, the Order of the Red Star, a medal for the victory over Germany, a medal for the defense of the Soviet Arctic, a medal for the capture of Berlin, and a medal for the victory over Japan.
