Keel - laying ceremony for research vessels will take place at Nevsky Shipyard

On November 26th , 2021 at 13:00 the keel- laying ceremony for two research vessels "Professor Anatoly Elizarov" and "Professor Pyotr Moiseev" (17050 project ) will take place at Nevsky Shipyard (part of SoyuzMash).

The event is planned to be attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation - Dmitry Patrushev, the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery - Ilya Shestakov, the Governor of the Leningrad Region - Alexander Drozdenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Shipbuilding Corporation - Georgy Poltavchenko, heads and specialists of the shipbuilding industry, scientists from VNIRO. The ceremony is planned to be attended by the relatives of Anatoly Elizarov and Pyotr Moiseev - outstanding scientists, whose names have been assigned to the ships under construction.

Nevsky Shipyard will begin construction of vessels under the contract with the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography. The vessels are designed specifically for the needs of the national fishery science using the latest technical advances and taking into account international standards for vessels of this configuration.

17050 Project is one of the most modern projects of research fishing vessels, providing for the possibility of performing multi-view trawl-acoustic surveys, mastering new fish-finding methods. The vessels of this project are designed to study the behavior of marine organisms constantly living in the aquatic environment, as well as to collect materials to assess their stocks.

An important event for the fishery industry will take place in the Year of Science and Technology, announced by the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, and the 140th anniversary of the fisheries science of Russia.
