Dry-cargo vessel “NEVA-LEADER 4” set off on her maiden voyage

On July 18th, 2013 the dry-cargo vessel “NEVA-LEADER 4”, built at Nevsky Shipyard, set off on her maiden voyage from Shipyard’s quay in Schliesselburg to one of Volga’s port for loading of exported cargo of about 4000 tons which should be transported in Black Sea, according to the press service of North-Western Shipping Company, JSC.

Multipurpose dry-cargo vessels of deadweight more than 7000 tons RSD49 project are the largest of the existing dry-cargo vessels of “river-sea” type in Russia. The vessels are intended for transportation of general and bulk cargoes including grain, timber, and large-dimension cargoes in the Caspian Sea as well as in the Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Baltic Sea, White Sea and North Sea including routes around Europe and on the Irish Sea in winter.

Nevsky Shipyard builds 10 sister-vessels for North-Western Shipping Company, JSC.  The construction is carrying out under large fleet renewal of VBTH, shipping division of international transportation group UCL Holding.

Nowadays, RSD49 project motor vessels transport general cargoes from North Europe ports to Russian river ports and South Europe seaports.  In the period from November, 2012 to July, 18th, 2013 the first three RSD49 project vessels - “NEVA-LEADER 1”, “NEVA-LEADER 2” and “NEVA-LEADER 3”  - transported 170 000 tons of cargo.
