Nevsky Shipyard started building a series of five dry-cargo vessels RSD59 project.
On March 27, 2017, the works on metal cutting for the construction of the main vessel with (591 building number) started on Nevsky Shipyard. On March 31, workers of the hull-assembly shop started cutting metal for the second vessel (building number 592).
The vessel is designed for transportation of general and bulk cargo (including grains), packaged lumber, logs, scrap metal in bundles and rolls of large, lengthy and heavy cargo, coal, dangerous goods of 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 class in accordance with IC IMDG and Appendix B of the BC Code.

Deadweight in the sea with draft of 4.50 m - 7445 m
Deadweight in river draft of 3.60 m - 5112 m
Autonomy (sea / river) - 20/12 days
Number of holds - 2
The volume of cargo holds - 11200 m2
Container capacity (hold / deck) - 252 (192/60) TEU HD
Power - kW 2h1200
Crew / seats - 11/14 persons + pilot
Speed at draft of 4.5 m - about 10.2 knots
The main advantages of the dry-cargo ship project RSD59 - The availability of long hold L = 77,35 m, which allows to transport large-capacity loads , which is important for the countries of the Caspian region market - The height of the hold 9,000 mm, which allows to transport the containers to a height of 9.6 feet - "high cube containers" (3 of container height) - The hatch covers are set of removable type. Opening and closing of each section is carried out using a special gantry crane, which is located in the bow bulkhead accommodation superstructure in its stowed position - Movement and control is provided by two RSS (better maneuverability in narrow waters, more cargo space by reducing the size of machine room).
