As a part of the planned work carried out by Nevsky Shipyard Management on developing partnership relations with regard to possible cooperation when working on technically and technologically complicated projects, as well as for the purpose to exchange experience and to get more detailed information about the companies affiliated with the group “STX Europе Оу”, on August 10-11, 2010 the delegation of Nevsky Shipyard made a return visit to the shipyards “Turku shipyard” and “Helsinki shipyard”, Finland, representatives of which visited Nevsky Shipyard on May 25th this year.
Besides the representatives of management and specialists of Nevsky Shipyard, the Russian delegation also included the representatives of the management company “T. A. Management” and Okskaya Sudoverf, JSC (Shipyard “Oka”), which are, along with Nevsky Shipyard, affiliated with the transport group “Universal Cargo Logistics Holding.
In spite of a very busy program of the return visit, preliminary agreed agenda of the visit was entirely carried out thanks to good organization of the visit, friendly and very informative atmosphere of the meetings.
During the visit our delegation had an opportunity to visit the production facilities and to get an overview of current situation of the shipyards “Turku Shipyard” and “Helsinki Shipyard” as well as to be on board of the largest cruise vessel in the world “Allure of the Seas”, construction of which is being completed at “Turku Shipyard” at the moment.
The desire of both “STX Europе Оу»” and Nevsky Shipyard to have partnership relations being mutual, the parties discussed a number of lines of possible cooperation, particularly participation of “STX Europе Оу” in developing design documentation of different levels for Nevsky Shipyard, consulting and engineering services, partnership in implementation of technically complicated projects of vessels construction for Russian customers.
Summarizing the results of the visit members of delegation got firmly convinced formed that the question of developing partnership relations with “STX Europе Оу” is really important for both parties and the outcome of such cooperation can be really mutually beneficial. The parties came to an agreement about continuation of mutual consultations and specified time of the next stage of negotiations.
