Keel-laying ceremony for Research vessels was held at Nevsky Shipyard
On November 26 the keel-laying ceremony for two 17050project research vessels "Professor Anatoly Elizarov" and "Professor Pyotr Moiseev" took place at Nevsky Shipyard (part of the USC and SoyuzMash).
The event was attended by the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev, the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov, the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Georgy Poltavchenko, managers and specialists of the Nevsky Shipyard, scientists from VNIRO.
Nevsky Shipyard began construction of research vessels under the shipbuilding contract with the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography VNIRO).
The vessels have an unlimited navigation area, year-round operation, compliance with all international noise and environmental standards. Low noise level will increase the reliability of the assessment of aquatic biological resources.
The ability to turn 360 degrees facilitates maneuvering in difficult water areas and increases the safety of navigation in case of emergency situations.
The vessel will be equipped with laboratories for a wide range of scientific work, including the possibility of organizing additional or non-standard laboratories with a replaceable set of scientific equipment used for one-time work.
